Program Info

CITE increases access and opportunity for students traditionally shut out of higher-education programs by lowering the program's cost, scheduling the courses on weekends, and running classes online.

If you're seeking initial teacher certification in New York State, CITE partners with The University of Mount Saint Vincent to offer a Master of Science in General and Special Education (Childhood or Early Childhood). Completing this program and required teacher certification exams leads to a master's degree and teaching licenses in both general and special education at the Early Childhood level (birth-grade 2) or Childhood level (grades 1-6).

All teacher education programs are synchronous, online classes with your cohort and instructor together for the class time. Courses are designed by listening to the needs of working professionals trying to balance family, a job and school. The result of this process is outstanding pass rates and well-prepared teachers. This is the lowest-cost program in New York, and you will be supported and prepared for your New York State teaching certification exams and to step into a classroom.
