Sarah Lawrence's Art of Teaching program is an integrated two-year Master of Science in Education (MSEd) degree that leads to triple New York State certification in:

The Art of Teaching program takes a child-centered, culturally sustaining, interdisciplinary approach to teacher education centered on observation of children. The program is committed to public education, including urban schools, with graduates finding teaching positions in various public and private schools. 

The Art of Teaching program offers seminar-style courses in an intimate, collaborative setting, where you'll join students of diverse backgrounds to explore how you learn by reflecting on your childhood and adult experiences. The program uses a strength-based, individualized approach to working with children and families, emphasizing justice and equity throughout. You will work with children at every point in the program—at the Early Childhood Center and in student teaching placements in public elementary schools. Sarah Lawrence also supports alums through a Saturday Seminar Series and offerings from the Child Development Institute.

Work Study, Working While Still Enrolled

The College offers many on-campus employment opportunities for graduate students. Positions pay $17 per hour, and students typically work 10-20 hours a week during the academic year and up to 35 hours a week in the summer.
