Bank Street’s teacher education programs prepare you to earn your initial teaching certificate in New York State and teach in general, special and bilingual education settings from birth to adolescence.
According to a study by the Stanford Center for Opportunity Policy in Education:
- 87 percent of Bank Street graduates feel their teacher preparation program was effective or very effective compared to 66 percent of comparison teachers.
- Bank Street graduates report higher confidence in content area preparation than peers from other graduate schools, reporting an 18 percent advantage in science, a 20 percent advantage in English language and literacy, and a 23 percent advantage in math.
- Bank Street graduates enter and remain in the field of education at high rates, with 87 percent remaining in the field after a dozen years.
