Nazareth's School of Education prepares innovative, changemaking educators to meet the needs of a variety of learners in today's schools. The undergraduate initial certification programs are one of a kind, offering courses held in partner elementary, middle and high schools.

The university’s location in Rochester, NY, will give you opportunities for clinical experiences across rural, suburban and urban school districts. Nazareth University's programs highlight the contemporary importance of integrating the liberal arts and sciences with education programs, creating educators who are ethical, reflective and effective teachers.

Most of the university's undergraduate programs lead to multiple certifications, and the Inclusive Early Childhood/Childhood Education program is highly unique, leading to three certifications from birth-6th grade, including:

  • Early Childhood Education (Birth-Grade 2)
  • Childhood Education (Grades 1-6)
  • Students with Disabilities (Grades PK-12)

Grants, Stipends, Scholarships

Merit Scholarships- These scholarships are based on merit. The award is up to $23,000.

Bonner Leader Scholarship Program- Available to students who are committed to community engagement. The award is up to 50 percent of tuition.

Young Scholars Program- Available to high-achieving, underrepresented students. The award is full tuition funding.

RCSD Graduates Award- Available if you graduate from the Rochester City School District, New York. The award is up to $76,000 over four years.
