Russell Sage College is a private nonprofit college with campuses in Albany and Troy, New York, serving a diverse body of more than 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students. The Esteves School of Education at Russell Sage College offers accredited undergraduate and graduate programs leading to initial and professional teacher certification in New York State. At the undergraduate level, you can choose from several programs that prepare you for initial teacher certification in New York State, including:

  • B.S. in Childhood Education (grades 1-6)
  • B.S. in Childhood Education and Early Childhood Education (birth- grade 6)
  • B.S. in Childhood and Early Childhood Education with grades 7-9 extension (birth- grade 9)
  • B.S. in Physical Education
  • B.S. in Childhood Education/Early Childhood Education/Special Education (birth- grade 6 and all grades special education)

Classes are small and collaborative, with lots of personal attention from faculty and interaction with classmates. Sage’s locations in Troy and Albany, New York, offer access to a variety of schools and school districts for hands-on field experiences in local classrooms—tailored to your education degree program and career goals. The Esteves School of Education prepares you to become a highly effective educator who believes in full inclusion, values diversity, and is knowledgeable about best teaching practices.
