SUNY Brockport offers over 40 education programs for you to explore. The program curriculum blends rigorous coursework with practical, hands-on teaching experiences. Brockport maintains partnerships with schools and organizations across the state, country and the world to provide you with unique and authentic student teaching experiences.
At the undergraduate level, the following programs are available:

Program Overview
From when you enter the program until the start of your final semester, you'll take a mix of courses in education and your subject area(s) and participate in hands-on field experiences.
During your final semester, you'll get to complete either:
One full semester-long student teaching placement, or
Two student teaching placements, each one lasting half of the semester.
Program Hallmarks
All undergraduate programs at SUNY Brockport include at least three field experiences and a student teaching placement. The focus and structure of each experience differ by program. For example, in elementary and adolescence programs:
The first field experience introduces inclusive education, where you observe in classrooms and tutor students with learning or behavioral challenges.
The second experience involves planning and teaching inclusive lessons as part of the educational team.
The third experience focuses on mastery. You will take on the role of lead teacher for at least half the time.
Finally, your student teaching placement is a semester-long comprehensive experience.
In addition, unique field and student teaching opportunities are offered:
The SUNY Urban Teacher Education Center provides student teaching in New York City's public schools.
The BOCES Extended School Year program lets you work as a paid teacher aide or student behavioral assistant.
An Alaskan student teaching program offers paid travel and housing compensation.
You will gain experience with English language learners and students with disabilities in urban, suburban and rural settings. Brockport also offers the following specialized programs:
